« News for the week of 8/24/12 »

Nothing world-ending going on this week, but we're getting things done at a steady clip.

  • Our final August event will be next Thursday, August 30, at 7 pm. It's called "Dark of the Male, Light of the Female: Women Writing About Horrible Things," a reading series hosted by Meghan Lamb, featuring Amanda Marbais, Jac Jemc, Cassandra Troyan, Hillary Stone, and Michelle Sinsky. Be sure to come by, and check out our updated Events calendar for what's coming up in September and October.
  • Lots of new books in this week, including more art books than we have shelf space to handle. A more comprehensive list is here.
  • Remember that if you would like to sell or donate books to Uncharted, just bring what you have to the store on a Thursday or Friday between 1-9 pm and we'll have a look. See our Sell/Donate page for more policies and a handy chart of stuff we take vs. stuff we don't take.

An example of something we will not buy:

We are already at maximum Ramona capacity. Take your illicit fuzzy snugglemonsters elsewhere.

(But seriously, we are a dog-friendly store if you don't already know that. You can bring your own  fuzz monster. But we won't buy it.)
