This book was printed simultaneously by several publishers with variable bindings, often lacking author's name and date, as does this copy. Endmatter also fails to mention that this is the first volume of what would eventually be a trilogy. A very handsome volume of true tales of adventure and exploration as well as a detailed history and geography with special focus on the triumphs of the Zulus. This copy is in unusually good condition, with striking, bright examples of Victorian lithography. Very good. Item #1459
