London: Macmillan, 1922. Reprint. Cloth. 8vo. Forest green cloth with gilt lettering on spine. Diagrams and illustrations throughout. 1093 pp. plus advertisements.
Minor scuffing to edges. Circular stains on front cover, likely rings from a glass of water. Ownership stamps of Clarence T. Brewer inside covers and on title page, blacked out with marker by a previous owner. Tight and clean.
This is a scarce 1-volume physics textbook, a reprint of the original 5-volume edition from 1918. It was owned by noted Chicago engineer Clarence T. Brewer, who owned a local engineering and consulting firm which held a number of patents. A handsomely printed volume which would make a lovely gift for the science-minded person. Very good.
