New York: Harcourt, 1975. First Edition, 2nd printing. Hardcover. 8vo. Orange quarter cloth over yellow boards. Dust jacket. 241 pp.
Inscribed with a full signature on half-title: "To Charley and Family [?] / With Love / Andy Warhol." Around the title, Warhol has drawn his iconic Campbell's soup can. On the right margin, Warhol has signed a second time with a different marker, this signature being the more common initials. The initialed signature bleeds through and is visible on verso.
Book and jacket are very good but have several superficial flaws. Jacket not price clipped, though top right flap corner is creased. Jacket edges are scuffed and are beginning to curl. 1/8" closed tear at top left of front cover. Flap creases are not crisp, a bit crinkly. Another crinkle on rear jacket cover, running almost the cover's width. A liquid stain (about 1/10" tall, 1.5" wide) visible on verso of front jacket cover, not visible on front cover at all. The same stain can be seen on the top front board edge.
Book corners are bumped. Shelf wear to top and bottom board edges, with some scuffing to the paper backing. Some speckled discoloration to block edges. 2 1" dark scuffs on front board. Interior is excellent.
This is a first edition of Andy Warhol's memoir, with a scarce full signature, hand-drawn Campbell's soup can, and second initialed signature. A highly collectible copy. Very good / very good. Item #1670
