This is an uncommon first edition of historian Parkman's narrative of 14th-17th century European explorers in North America. The first in Parkman's popular series, which would see a total of 7 volumes published throughout the next two decades. A clean and attractive first edition of an important book, sadly marred by binding issues. (Howes P99; Sabin 58802). Fair. Item #1720
