This is a very large reference volume, reprinting Kappler's 1904 original (titled Indian Affairs : Laws and Treaties : Volume II), which collects the full text of every treaty made between the United States government and indigenous nations. Per the foreward: "The complications, disappointments, anxieties, broken promises and treaties, the suffering and deaths... are not a part of this volume... Rather, we are concerned only with the treaties as written and accepted, not in the execution of their terms or the lack of it." A fascinating, important book. Very good. Item #1768
