Very minor wear to corners. Signed twice by Williams, once on front free endpaper and again on colophon. Name of the recipient of the inscription has been cut out of endpaper page. Tight and clean, an excellent copy.
This is a very scarce finely printed first edition thus of the memoirs of soldier and explorer TImberlake, edited and annotated by historian Williams. No. 22 of 35 signed and numbred large-paper copies, 30 of which were released to the public. Howes praises the volume as "an important source on the Cherokee nation and on the little-known southern phase of the French and Indian War, as well as the first eye-witness account of the Tenn. country."
