This is an influential devotional by evangelical Christian missionary Lettie Cowman (1870-1960). Streams in the Desert is her best known book, reprinted many times, inspired by her mission work in Southeast Asia. The Oriental Missionary Society (now called the One Mission Society), which the Cowmans co-founded in 1901, remains an influential evangelical organization, with branches in 77 countries and claiming to open over 6000 new churches every year. Very good. Item #2016
