Histoire is a 2nd edition, following the first edition in 1735 in Antwerp. It was published anonymously and not attributed to De Choisy until later. De Choisy was an abbot, author, and famous cross-dresser, choosing to dress as a woman for most of his life.
Memoires is a first edition. It is a short novel of tragic love, one of the first of the Gothic genre. Madame de Tencin was a well-regarded woman of letters and hostess of a famous Parisian literary salon.
Both books are rare, the first edition of Memoires especially so. Good. Item #2320
