Yale University Press, 1976. Paperback. Signed on title page: "For Felix Pollak, a brother poet- best wishes, Carolyn Forche, March, 1977"
Forche is a legend in her own right, but Pollak was, in addition to being an accomplished poet, a publisher, translator, and anti-war activist of great renown. His poem "Speaking: The Hero" was one of the best known Vietnam War protest poems, and the University of Wisconsin Press awards an annual poetry prize in his name. Forche is of course a political force of nature both in her poetry and activism, so it makes sense that these two progressive giants of letters would have crossed paths at some point. This one-of-a-kind book marks the intersection of two incredible careers. Good. Item #27
