This is a collection of first edition novelizations of early Nintendo video games. Conceived and edited by business writer Seth Godin (here using the pseudonym "F.X. Nine" so that his books would be indexed next to "Nintendo" on shelves), each book adapts the plot of a popular Nintendo game into a short novel. As most of these games were either plotless or very thin on literary merit, Godin and his co-authors invented the majority of the stories. The books also edited violence from the stories and artwork (note Solid Snake's airbrushed gunless pose on the Metal Gear cover and the absence of Ryu's dagger on Ninja Gaiden). An excellent set of the first four books in this fascinating series. Very good. Item #2849
