The Letters of Alexander Woolcott

Cassell, 1946. First Edition. Cloth. Previous owner's name and date on flyleaf. Dust jacket is a bit worn around edges, and corners are bumped. A British first edition compiling the letters from the recently deceased American critic and Algonquin Round Table bon vivant Woolcott. The editor Kaufman was also a Round Table member and the spouse of fellow member George S. Kaufman, whose classic play "The Man Who Came to Dinner" is a not-so-subtle satire of the eccentric Woolcott. Very good / good. Item #500
