Often called the godfather of pop art, Rivers was an influential New York artist and musician. He lived in the Chelsea Hotel in the 1960s and was part of the scene that include Bob Dylan, Janis Joplin, Leonard Cohen, and, notably, Andy Warhol. Mr. Rivers' experimental and provocative work is on permanent display all over the world, including the Hirshhorn Sculpture Garden in Washington, DC. He passed away in 2002. Fine / fine. Item #68
