Angkor
Paris: Editions "TEL" [1931]. First Edition. Wraps. Folio. 15"x11". Mixed pagination. 42 helio-engravings and 2 pages of text in French and English loose as issued in brown paper wraps.
Wraps are a bit curled and ragged around the edges. Pen notation at top right of front cover. Water stain on front right of cover and rectangular sunning in middle of front cover. Image 38 is not present, but other sellers have noted the absence of image 38 in their copies as well. Coupled with the fact that images 37 and 39 face each other (see image), this bookseller believes that an error was made in the publisher's collation. It seems likely that image 38 was never included to begin with as it would have been single-sided (as no other page in the book is) and thrown off the pagination. Despite the missing number, this bookseller is confident that this copy is complete as issued.
This is a collection of photographic plates depicting the lost Cambodian city of Angkor. A guidebook for the armchair adventurer of a bygone era. Very good. Item #847
