Adventure Club Conversations is a Chicago-based live conversation series that aims to bring together creatives, cultural shifters, and policy makers to discuss a slew of topics in a public, non-academic space. This series is dedicated to reigniting the value of enriching conversation between two people with overlapping passions, professions, mindsets or all of the above. It is meant for us to learn from one another, and continue building community with this growing, collective knowledge pool of shared insights, stories and resources.

Katanya Raby is an Associate Outreach Planner for the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP). She is co-founder of the Society of Black Urban Planners and is co-chair of the Diversity Committee for the American Planning Association Illinois Chapter. She manages CMAP's Future Leaders in Planning (FLIP) program, a youth leadership development program that introduces students to planning and policy and encourages them to consider their roles in the future of their own communities. An alum of AmeriCorps VISTA and City Year, she works to address the ever-increasing need for visual and creative arts in urban schools and is committed to planning for equity and service to underserved communities. She is the recipient of the 2017 APA-IL Emerging Planner Service Award.

Vitaliy Vladimirov works to get everyone to think critically about how Urban Planning shapes our lives and to get Urban Planners to be critical of how they shape peoples' lives. Recent projects include creating a card game on gentrification, a workshop on Mobility Equity for the Obama Foundation, a pop-up museum gathering oral histories in Uptown, and walking tours tackling Social & Spatial Justice inspired by the words of Jane Jacobs. Also an artist, he employs urban theory as a foundation for creating pop-up events, zines, stickers, and more. He will also speak about urban planning to anyone who listens - this has included 3rd and 5th graders, college students, and recently WGN radio's Rick Kogan. A Community Designer at MUSE Community + Design, he works to bring ideals of equity and justice in all MUSE does – and have fun while doing so! He is the recipient of the 2019 APA-IL Emerging Planner Service Award.
